Meet the Doctor

Dr. Coriz has been practicing Comprehensive and Cosmetic dentistry for over 21 years.  He received his Bachelor of Science in Biology (Microbiology) at the University of New Mexico and went on to receive his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Marquette University in 1991.  There, he was active in various student committees, and held an officer/editor position in the Psi Omega Dental Fraternity.

His practice experience began with the Public Health Service as the Director of Dental Services for the Menominee Tribal Clinic in Wisconsin, and in 1998, Dr. Coriz moved back to New Mexico and began practicing in Los Alamos, New Mexico, gradually building a comprehensive focused practice. In 2010 Dr. Coriz moved back to Albuquerque to start his current practice, Coriz Dental.

In his private practice, he is committed to the finest patient care and has gone through great lengths to provide the latest technology education and information to his patients.  He has been practicing with an emphasis in whole body health and has focused his training in this direction throughout the course of his career.  He is also very sensitive to the safety and comfort of his patients.  Listening to specific concerns and fears is of utmost importance to deliver the most gentle and non-threatening dental care as possible.

Dr. Coriz believes that vital information of overall health can be derived from an extensive dental examination, as many health problems present themselves in the mouth early. He has extensive training and experience in the treatment of occlusal (bite) problems, TMJ (jaw) pain, and sleep apnea. He loves cosmetic dentistry and will design your smile so that it looks and functions naturally.

Dr. Coriz’s dedication to dentistry extends to his passion for continuing education. His studies include the Dawson Center for Advanced Learning in St. Petersburg, Fl, and the Spear Center in Scottsdale, AZ. He also networks with a group of local dentists and specialists in different study groups where various patient treatments are discussed and the latest advancements in dentistry are studied.

When Dr. Coriz is not practicing dentistry, he spends most of his time with his family traveling, hiking and exploring.
